Pump stops randomly on auto

Hi there,
I’m a first time pool owner, so I’m not sure if this is normal or not. We have a Pentair water system. Our pool company told us to keep it on auto and they also said to keep it running 24/7. When they were out here they set it up for two schedules: 8:00am-8:00pm and 8:00pm to 8:00am. For the third day in a row now, when I went out there, it is not running.
So when it is on “auto” should it always be running? Or does it decide for itself when it is on auto when it runs and when it doesn’t?
Thanks!

Not,

If you want to run 24/7, the schedule should be 8 am until 8am.. But I doubt that is the issue. Are you ever manually starting or stopping the pump by pushing the "F" button..

What specific automation system do you have??

What specific pump do you have? Some pumps have a F/W issue that can cause the pump to run intermittently.

The system should be in AUTO all the time unless someone manually turns on the SERVICE mode..

Thanks,

Jim R.
