Pump shuts off

Our pool is 9 years old. We just had to replace the pump this fall. It has run fine since then until recently. It suddenly started shutting off after @15 minutes. Pool guy came and swapped it with a new one because there were no other obvious problems. Pump started this morning, I heard the heater kick on, @15 minutes later, the brand new pump shut off. The assumption is its overheat protection, but flow is good, and it’s plugging into a system that has been working fine until now.
Any thoughts on where to look?

Welcome to TFP.

When the pump shuts off can you hold your hand on the motor?

What does it take to restart the pump?

What model pump?

Is the pump connected to any automation or timers?
