The spa pump works just normally loud. Debating replacing it with some thing a lot less quieter.
From what I can tell it’s a 1.5hp motor which is probably over kill for one suction at the bottom and 3 returns.
We don’t use the pump because when it runs you can’t relax ;)
Don’t want to spend a lot, wife trimmed out the roses ( ie: monster flowers with thorns ) so I can get to it now

Cheapest would be to just replace the motor. Do you have the pump plate information? Single speed motors are pretty cheap. Even new pumps make some noise at 3450 rpm but sounds like you may have a bearing issue... another option would be a 2 speed and run on low speed but flow would be dramatically reduced by a factor of roughly 4. But 2-speed motor is much more expensive and you may need to pull new wire.

The noise doesn't sound like a bad bearing, sounds the same as my old superpump did before I bought the VS..Ideally wold love to have another VS but not worth spending that much money on.
Didn't know if newer single speed pumps were any quieter..Maybe I will look at building a sound deading house for it.
