We drained half our pool to remove cya. It is still filling, but we forgot to turn off the timer on the pump and it turned on during the night! We don't normally run it at night, but we haven't set the time on the timer yet. The pin that turns indicates it has been 5 hours. Should we replace anything or any test we can do on the pump to make sure it is working before the pool is full? The pump is about 3 years old. It didn't feel hot to the touch, but the current temperature outside at 7:15 am is 55 and light rain.

The water is finally high enough to run the pump. So far it sounds normal, has the normal flow for the return jet, and we don't see any leaks. Do I dare let it run all night? Our pool is a mess right now with cottonwood, gypsy caterpillars, Caterpillar poop, and pieces of leaves. Typically this time of year I do run the pump 24/7 because of those nasty things falling into the pool non stop. We clean the skimmer basket 4+ times a day until the gypsy moths and cotton wood stop and I vacuum it daily.
