Pump LED Light On Control Board

So I have a Hayward Ecostar pump. The control panel is on the pump and you lift the lid to access it. Should the display light (so yo can read the pump speed, etc) always be on, even when i close the lid it seems to stay on?

It seems like if it is always on it will burn out? IS this normal

Good Day, the light is an LED with a long life. It will always be on.
