Pump leaks after go kit installed

I have a Sta-Rite Maxi Glass PE type
I'm on the 3rd Motor. Second Go kit and several lid gaskets under my belt.
This year the pump was leaking pretty bad (multiple drips per second, but not a spray).
The leak was coming from under the pump housing where the band clamp is.
It was also losing prime when off and introducing air into the system.
I bought a Go kit that had all the gaskets and the seal, after replacing everything
It still leaked, I took it all apart, verified orientation, and added more Magic Lube.
No improvement. The only difference is it doesn't seem to be losing prime when off now.
Any suggestions for a next step?
also if the seal is bad wouldn't the leak be contained inside the pump housing since
it is a sealed unit?

You could have a cracked casing or back plate.

It could be a seal leak. Either between the sealing surfaces or between the seal plate and seal.

That's not a sealed unit, there's a space between the seal plate and the motor bell housing.

I'm guessing there might be a crack on the part I cant take out to look at. Regardless I guess it's time for a new pump.
