Pump froze, won't turn on, just buzzes

Been so busy forgot to turn pump on during extreme cold weather so freeze protection kicks in,
i went out to turn it on and it just humming, won't turn over. I was able to break the ice in the pump filter and there was water in there so not froze solid. But pump still won't run so I figure ice in there.
i went ahead and took the plugs at the bottom of the pump off so it can drain, or have a pressure relief in frozen pump. Shut power off

Now the cartridge filter, I didn't see anywhere to drain it that wasn't frozen shut. The big 2 inch drain was frozen shut. Will that be a problem ?

Hi Steve,
In my opinion you are still at risk for something freezing and breaking if you were not able to drain all the water out of the pumps and filter. I know you can't do much now but I have seen filters, pumps, plumbing, and valves crack from freezing. Sorry I don't have any good news but you're kind of in a risky wait and see situation.

Why don't you disconnect the pump, take it out, defrost, and test.
You can then reinstall and see what leaks or doesn't
If you are lucky you may be able to winterise
