Pump, Filter, and SWG time!

I have had enough with this 24x30 pad and all of this equipment crammed close together!! Why in the heck do pool installers do this??!! Tearing out all of my old equipment (chlorine, gold Hayward pump that sounds like a mashed cat, and sand filter). I am going to tear out the old concrete and pour a nice big pad...... and re-plumb everything to give plenty of access to maintain! I would like to go with a VS pump and SWG. Since I will be starting from scratch, please lend me some knowledge on the "best" VS pump, SWG, and filter combination. I have a HVAC and plumbing business, and we just started a electrical division. That being said, I hope to have all of the bases covered for the installation. As always, all of you guys' knowledge and support is greatly appreciated! Stay safe and dodge that Rona bug!!

The key to your answer is... do you plan to get an automation system??? If you get automation, then you need to use the same brand of equipment for the automation, for the SWCG, and for the VS pump..

If you are not going to have automation, you can mix and match whatever you want.

Hands down, the gold standard for VS pumps is the 3 HP IntelliFlo style pumps.

The best salt system is the Hayward T-15..

I personally like large cartridge filters.. I am biased toward the Pentair, but they are all about the same.

Don’t know anything at all about automation.... I only have 1 skimmer and 3 returns with no frills (didn’t know if that would make a difference in choosing automation). Attaching pics of current setup.

Nice pump!! No SWCG, but plenty of space if you ever decide to use one.
