The circulation and skimming are good. A new o-ring was added, I checked to make sure the winterization plug is tight and pool water level is right. Any ideas to get the basket to fill? Thanks.
If you have an above ground pool, the pump is usually below water level. Is this the case?
A bubble trapped in the lid is no big deal. They generally work their way out in a day or two, If the basket is really low and churning, you've got a restriction in the suction side.
I forgot to mention my filter pressure is normally 14 psi but is 24. I’m opening the pool with algae but use hairnets to capture gunk. Do you think a backwash might help? The deal is it would only fill 3/4 before I started the filtering process.
A clogged up hairnet could restrict the flow enough to make the pump starve.
And high pressure means a clogged filter, which doesn't help. I think the next steps are to backwash and clean the hairnet. And see how things run with the multiport valve set to bypass.
