Looking at pumps and filters for a new 24' round AGP (about 13,500 gallons). Considering: Pentair Clean and Clear 150SF Filter with 1.5 hp two speed Optiflo pump (PNCC01500F2160) or would it be better to buy the pump and filter separate? I found a Pentair 1 hp two speed Optiflo pump on Pool Supply unlimited. I could then get the Pentair Clean and Clear Cartridge filter in any size, just not sure what size I'd need. What would you do? The combo is cheaper, but concerned that the filter isn't big enough??

One more question: The pool I'm planning to purchase is the Optimum by Wilbar and I'm having it put in the ground 22 inches. I would like to hard plumb the pool and bury the pvc from the pool to the pump/filter, which will be about 20 feet from the pool. Do I need a self priming pump if I'm planning to bury the pvc? The pump/filter will not sit above water level, but I didn't know if burying the lines made a difference. thanks so much

The larger the filter the better. I would get something larger then 180.

Burying the pool lines does not make a differnce. What matters i the level of the skimmer intake versus the pump. If the pump is at or below the skimmer water level the pump should maintain prime.
