Pump and filter for a new 24 ft above ground

I am putting up a new 24 ft round above ground. I am looking for a 2 speed pump and cartridge system. I don't want a sand filter. I am comfortable with cartridge as a personal preference. The pool guy tried to sell me a 1 1/2 HP single speed pump with a 90 sq feet filter. Now tell me what do I really need because I know he is wrong ! LOL

I have a Hayward powerflo matrix 1 hp 2 speed. It's a great pump. I run on low most of the time. For mixing bleach and vacuuming, more skimming action, I use high.

I highly recommend.

I would recommend a 1 or 1.5 hp 2-speed above ground pump and a 150 or 200 sqft cartridge filter.
