Proper steps to replace pool tiles that fell off?

Hey guys, I had 2 pool tiles that fell off today (see attached pics). I would like to get them back on. Can anybody tell me the proper way to set the tiles back in place on the wall? I'm guessing some type of mastic/thinset to glue the tile back on followed by some sort of mortar a day or two later? Should I use anything special to try and clean the tile off first? Any specific brands of materials (thinset and mortar) that work best in this situation that y'all can recommend? TIA

Remove the old thinset from the gunite and tile using a grout blade in an oscillating tool.

Then mix up some thinset and put it on the gunite with a notched trowel.

Butter the back of the tile and put it in place.

Use plastic spacers to set the grout line.

Let the thinset set then grout the joints.
