The recommended levels page of tfp says that CH for swg pool should be 0-300 (don't add). My newly installed hayward h250 manual says that it should be 200-400. If too low it could be corrosive to heat exchanger. Which should I follow? I current get a reading of 50 and in the past never added anything.

Also it says that FC should be 1-3, but I usually keep it closer to 5 since my cya is 70. All other stats seem to be comparable.

Most pool heater manufacturers still use steam boiler parameters for their chemistry requirement.

So, if you wish to abide by their requirements to meet any warranty, you will need to raise your CH.
In the real world, the CH has no effect on the heat exchanger. Low pH will destroy it. So be sure to manage that.

Thanks. Just installed so don't want to risk warranty issue. I will increase it to recommended level. Since I have swg I am always checking for ph level being too high.
