Products to clean auto pool cover?

Hi! We installed our pool last year. It has an automatic cover (which has been a NIGHTMARE but thats another issue for another day). The cover is gross. The gross isn't just something I can hose off. It needs a scrub.

What cleaning products should I use for this? I dont want to put regular soap or anything on it because I dont want it to roll back into the pool water. Also, what kind of brush? Is there something specific, or just any brush on a long handle will do?

Skippy uses car wash cleaner and long handled push broom to scrub the closed cover, then plenty of water rinsing.
