Problem during resurfacing

We had an issue arise with our pool resurfacing and just wanted to check out if this is standard. We are having our pool resurfaced with a a pebble surface. The demolition went fine, but during the resurfacing something got stuck in the hose and they had to stop midway. They contacted us and said they would be putting on a bond coat today, which they did, and coming back to resurface again tomorrow. Does this make sense as something that happens? Will this impact the integrity of our surface over the coming years versus if they had applied the entire surface in one day? Thank you for any thoughts. When they did the pebble surface on my pool, the hose exploded midway. They ended up doing it by hand with a wheel barrow...needless to say, it looked terrible the next day. The supervisor for the pebble didn't like it and said they would redo it. Initially, they were going to chisel away about an inch below the tile and spray the new plaster there and spray a whole new coat on the entire pool to ensure even coverage and make sure it stuck/adhered properly. My problem with that was I was going to have half-assed plaster below good plaster, it was going to be double the thickness (which in my small cocktail pool, every inch matters. I was concerned about the integrity and it was going to bug me that the plaster was going from half inch to inch plus...might not be noticeable, but I would know. It's not like they were doing it for free...so I had them remove all the old plaster and redo it from scratch. I would have them remove and redo...
