I was hoping that I could get some advice. I no longer live in my home and I have someone taking care of my pool while I am trying to sell the house.
The power went out and my pump lost prime.
I am trying to walk my helper through how to prime the pump. The only problem is, something different is happening that I have never seen before. Regardless of how much water we pour into the basket, it is not priming. The abnormal behavior is that every time the pump is turned off to refill water in the basket, the basket fills back up with dirty water. I’m assuming the dirty water is coming from the filter in reverse. I have never had this happen before. Typically, when I am trying to prime, the basket stays empty until the prime is working.
One theory I have is that there is debris stuck in the impeller which is preventing proper suction. Can anyone else think of an idea of why the basket is filling with dirty water while trying to prime, once the power is turned off on the pump?
I feel like this abnormal behavior must be related to the fact that it is also not priming.
Please let me know if anyone has any other thoughts out there. I am kind of in a bad place here. It sounds like the pump is running ok.
Attached is a picture of the dirty water back up and other equipment pad settings.
Thank you.
