We are getting ready to go on vacation. Our pool is crystal clear and hoping it stays that way during vacation.
We put a smart wifi switch in with a scheduled timer having the pump on from 9 am-7pm daily. Our levels are
Cya - 40
Alk- 60
Ph-7.8
Fc- 5
Cc-0
We also have a solar cover which we have rolled up currently. Do we need to put it on while on vacation? It will be upper 80s while we are gone. Our plan was to raise to raise water level to almost top of skimmer the night before and raise to slam level the morning we leave and hope for the best. We have a friend that we were going to see if they could come by Wednesday and add a couple more gallon of chlorine which should take us through until we get home on that Saturday.

The cover certainly wouldn't hurt. It'll help prevent burnoff as well as evaporation. But if it's a big hassle, you'll probably be okay without it as well.

Do you need to raise the water level that high? I'm in the state to the east of you. Right now, I have more water than I need from the recent rains. Quite a bit is going down my overflow tube.

It's currently raining so I may not have to end up adding. But we haven't gotten a lot of rain I haven't had to add any since opening. Due to recent heat we had the level was good but as precaution was going to add to have it full so that there wouldn't need to have any added while we were gone due to forecasting dry and hot weather coming in. We have someone coming to check things while we are away so I think we will be in good shape . Thanks for all advice. It sure has been helpful and I feel better about leaving it.

I always raise to slam level & put a few pucks in a floater for vacation. I always come back to plenty of fc.
I have my in-laws check the skimmer basket mid week or incase there’s a storm.
