After our first backwash this season, pressure went down, air came out the relief valve, but no water . There was a lot of tree bud things that probably made the backwash necessary, could the value itself be clogged? What can I do? Anything else to look for? Thank you for any help.

What model DE filter and air relief valve are we discussing?
If air comes out of the air relief valve, then it is not clogged. How long did you keep it open while waiting for water?

You got water flow which is a good sign.
I don't know how strong that filter blows water out of the relief valve.
