Pp newbie looking for help

With Muriatic acid PH AND TA should go down, right? How long does it take to go down? Several days?
See the article below to understand how pH and TA interact.

See this article to understand TA and how to lower it. It takes longer to lower to TA than it does pH. So it may take weeks to lower TA from 150ppm. Also, have you tested your fill water? It may be adding TA as the pool water evaporates due to heat.
What about the CH and CSI?
CH is on the low end of range for plaster pool. Don't let it go lower.
CSI will change as you lower pH.
With a SWCG you want CSI to be slightly negative

So, is there anything else I can do? Or just add the muriatic acid ? How can make TA go down?
My CH is 250 , is not it low?
And CSI is 0.65
do I have to do anything else?
Thank you

Correct.

No. It at the low end of the range but ok.

Lower your pH into the 7's and your CSI should come down.

Sorry, I didn’t see your first response this morning, that’s why I asked again.
I already read some articles you send me, and i understand a little better what’s the relation between PH and TA.
I tested my fill water how you said, and the result is 220.
Pool Math says to add 15 oz of muriatic acid to get 7.6 PH target.
Once I do that, I will retest the ph after 30 minutes , and when I should test the TA? Tomorrow?

How often I need to repeat the process to get TA lower?

Thank you so much

Your high TA in your fill water will always be a driver, especially in summer months when evaporation is high.
Once your pH rises to 8 then dose again with MA to lower pH to 7.4 -7.6 range, Repeat as needed and you will see TA slowly decline but be aware that your fill water is countering some of the decreases you make to lower TA, so be patient. You are at 150 now so that is below your fill water TA level. Just keep at it. Continue to test every 2-3 days and adjust pH as needed.

Testing 30 mins after adding MA just confirms that you are reaching your desired pH level. You do not need to test every time after adding MA. Also you will be able to gauge yourself as to how quickly pH is rising so you know about when you need to add MA but always test before adding MA.
