Good evening! Our pool looks fabulous-clear, sparkling water. Today when I took the auto pool cleaner out, there were white, powdered laundry detergent-like granules in the bag. If I rub them, they become like paste. Years ago, we had hard calcium flakes when our calcium hardness was high, but they were hard chips. Here are my numbers from the test tonight:
FCl - 6.8
CCl- .2
Ph- 7.6
Alk - 80
CH - 200
CYA- 70

Any ideas what this substance is and if or how to treat it?

Thanks!
Sus

It is calcium based. Your water chemistry does not imply scale from the SWCG or other wise.

Do you use cal hypo by chance?

No, we use liquid chlorine only, when needed, and I haven’t added any for over a week. I did add a maintenance dose of Proteam Metal Magic on Saturday because our fill water stains the pool.
