I did a SLAM process and the algae is clogging my filter but now a 2 week old filter will no longer become clean enough to get a good prime or flow from the system. I tried without the cartridge filter in there and it primes fine. Do I really need to throw away a cartridge that is only 2 weeks old or is there a way to clean the algae off? Currently using a jet nozzle on my standard garden hose to clean the filter.

Floc in a cartridge filter plugs it up.

Be sure to completely remove the floc prior to replacing the cartridge.

Technically quality clarifier should clean out of the filter. But that is not a quality clarifier.

I ended up soaking the cartridge in a garbage can with liquid chlorine and TSP substitute and leaving it soak for a day and a half. Gave it a good rinse with my normal hose and nozzle and it came clean and water flow is now back to normal. Got a back up filter to ensure good water flow while the other soaks and hoping now the cloudiness will clear up.
