Love the PoolMath app, but unless I'm missing something obvious, is there no way to active SLAM mode so it will stop telling you your FC is too high when you're SLAMing your pool? I would think you should be able to flip a setting in the app to activate SLAM mode and it will automatically use the SLAM shock values for your CYA levels and then add to your log something to indicate that the log was created while in SLAM mode.

Also, is there a preferred way to send the app developer feature requests?

I believe it is built that way specifically to ALWAYS alert you if you are adding something outside the recommended range. That way it will "catch" you or "alert" you that you are doing something "other" than recommended. Like if you have SLAM on, when you don't mean to.

The feature list is here:

Dev responded to an email after a few days, maybe from seeing this post... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Said he'd add it to future feature ideas.

Main reason I think it'd be good is so that when SLAMing, you don't have to do a manual calculation to figure out how much chlorine to add to get to your shock FC, it'll just automatically calculate that.

I mean. It's only this once. You inherited a swamp with moving and SLAMing will get you back on the proper chemistry horse. This minor annoyance won't ever bother you again once you dust off the old skills. (y)

Lol. My SLAM is done. Enjoying the pool and just maintaining it now. Was more thinking about new guys, be less confusing if the app didn't keep telling them that their FC is too high.

Won’t lie, it was seeing this post that reminded me. The last few weeks have been rushing by and I totally forgot to respond to that ticket. By far the best way to contact us is via email at [email protected]. We’ve got it setup where tickets are saved plus showed to both the developer and I to view.

As for the request,
In the future I want to really focus on new users and use the App to “teach” TFPC. Activating a Slam Mode could trigger several different events such as a notification to clean your filter or whatever else. There’s a few options we could look into. 👍

Good to know y'all do monitor and utilize that email. So many apps have unmonitored emails listed on the store pages, wasn't sure if that email was even used.

I know a friend of mine could definitely benefit from automatic SLAM reminds and such. Have to hound him like crazy so he actually keeps up with it. Think my pool being blue and clear whereas he's been "fighting" (ignoring) his for a few months might finally motivate him to actually keep up with a SLAM.
