We're getting closer to the opening season and are the request of the other half, I was asked to figure out a method of heating the pool without using a solar cover (she feels its a bit unsightly, especially on a large wheel for storage).
Dig a bit of digging and I found an interesting method of pumping water through a solar mat and have it feed back into the pool. A friend of mine does it, and as long as you can get a good amount of direct sun during the day (the back half of the pool area does), it can heat and maintain it fairly well.
Has anybody done the same, and what setup do you use?
These are the type of mats I am referring too;
Just not sure what kind works the best and what pumps.
Thanks for your help as always. This community is great.
