Pool Remodel, now leaking!

Hi, had pool completely remodeled (surface, tile, all new equipment except heater) about 6 months ago. Now we have a pretty obvious pool leak. Luckily, the pool is still under warranty with the company we used. They are coming out in a couple weeks to do a full leak detection on it, but told me I needed to heat the pool to 85. Does this sound normal? Why is that needed? I'm just curious. Unfortunately, the builder never gives me any details and is quite short with me. Thanks.

Sorry about your leak! They may have to get in the pool and don't want to freeze or have to wear wetsuits.

OK, was wondering about that. 85 seems a bit excessive for winter. Maybe I'll just take advantage of it and go for a swim myself.

I live in Riverside, not too far from you. My pool is at 50 degrees now. It will take you a while to get that pool to 85 if you even can, so if you can do it by all means go for a swim!

Are they paying your utility bill for this too?
