Hello! I am looking for some advice to get started troubleshooting an equipment issue.

I cannot get my pool pump to turn on from the Pentair ScreenLogic app or from the outdoor panel. I THINK the pool ran low on water and pump shut off, but I am not 100% sure that’s all that happened. No other known issues though. The pool has been filled back up and won’t turn back on. I tried to run a self test diagnostic on the panel and got “status fail, code 14”.

Is there anything we can do to get things back on again? We have a new baby and are not sure how much time we can devote to this, so if anyone could tell me how time consuming this might be as a DIY troubleshoot / repair situation, we would so appreciate that.

Thank you!!

Will the Easytouch go into Service mode? If so, you can then control the pump from the pump control panel while you troubleshoot the automation.

Maybe the heater switch is stuck closed and causing the issue.

Do you have the Delay of Pump on during heater cooldown?

I’m not sure about that - I’ve never seen this screen. We hardy use our heater and it hasn’t been cold enough here to go into freeze mode or anything yet.

You can disconnect the comm wire from the pump to operate the pump from the pump's control panel.
If it is connected to continuous power and not the LOAD side of the filter pump relay.

Just got this alert on my app. The chlorinator communication losy is always there but the other is new.

So sorry didn’t even think to look here.
That with the EasyTouch in AUTO or SERVICE?

What is the position of the actuator and valves in front of the pump?

If you have water in the pump basket consider disabling priming in the pump...

When you try it again watch the pump lid and see if water is being drawn into the pump during priming.

Maybe the seal failed.

Fill the pump pot and look underneath for any leaks.

Clear the alarm and try to start the pump.

It is unusual, but the motor shaft can actually shear off, which creates very low resistance that the drive interprets as priming dry.
