I'm looking for suggestions as to how often I should run my pump in the summer. I live in the deep South and have a 16k gallon pool with a saltwater generator. My electricity cost is the same around the clock, so I'm not concerned about running the pump only during non-peak hours. I've read that I should run the pump 8-12 hours/day, but does that mean I should run it for 8-12 hours in one chunk, then keep it off the rest of the day? Or run it for a few hours, then turn it off for a few and continue this cycle for the entire day? Any advice would be appreciated!
