Pool pump not getting suction but is seemingly primed?

Hi, I have an in ground pool that I've been working on getting ready for summer. I had been treating it and vacuuming a bunch of leaf litter to waste with no problem, however today I've tried to continue and I'm not getting enough suction. I have tried backwashing for several minutes and rinsing. When I go to prime the filter, or really as soon as it is turned off, water rushes into the area with the filter basket, so it doesn't seem like an issue with not priming it. However, as soon as I turn it on, the water rushes through and there's an air bubble visible.

Does this mean I likely have a blockage? Should I call out a professional? I've tried to run it, reprime it etc all day and am not seeing an improvement. I also have a video of the filter in action but unsure how to share it here.
