I am currently opening up my pool for the summer and my pool pump is making a constant knocking noise. Do not remember making the noise last season.

I have inspected the impeller and found no debris that would be causing it to knock. Not sure what to do now.

I did notice a very slight imperfection on how the impeller spun. Almost like it had a very slight wobble.

Pool pump is a Harris 1.5hp VS from dohenys

Here is link for short video of noise

Welcome to TFP.

Vibration from the wobble you identified could be making the noise.

It starts making that noise the minute the pump starts and speeds up with every rotation. The fast the pump is running the faster the knock, slower the pump slower the knock.

Makes me think maybe it’s not the wobble since it makes that noise immediately after the pump starts. But I could maybe try replacing the impeller?
