Pool opening levels

Hi - I’m still tinkering with the pool as it was just opened. Currently have 1ppm of fc and probably CYA of 30ish. I have to retest as I added 50oz of cya yesterday. I wasn’t losing the dot at all and my pool opening company registered a cya of 17 on his digital meter. Adding the cya slowly as I had to drain my pool 2 years ago due to elevated levels from pucks. i use a SWG now.

I know I need to add more cya and get the fc up. Just wondering if it’s safe to swim with young kids (3 year old) right now? I know there’s definitely at least 1pm of fc using Taylor dpd test.

Thanks

  • The size of your pool in gallons ~25k
  • If your pool is an AG (above ground) or IG (in ground) - IG
  • If it's IG, tell us if it's vinyl, plaster/pebble, or fiberglass - Gunite (plaster)
  • The type filter you have (sand, DE, cartridge) -Sand
  • List any other equipment you have: SWG, second pump, etc. - SWG
  • List what test kit you use to test your water - K2006
  • Location - NJ
FC - 1
CC or TC -
pH - 8
TA - 100
CH - 140
CYA - recently added cya thinking 20-40 now

Might want to get the pH in the 7's. Their eyes may be irritated with the high pH.

Otherwise, go swimming.
