Pool opening 2024

I want to buy more R0871 reagent liquid-- I can buy a 2 oz bottle for 17.99 OR a PINT for 34.99. Does this item last and which size would you recommend?

You definitely don't need 16 oz, but you very well could need more than 2 oz. So the pint is probably the right call.

I did the first part of the occult FC test at about 10 PM-- It took between 17-18 drops- so my FC is between 8.5 and 9. So on today's sunny day mostly- the pool lost 3.5 ppm from 10 AM to 10 PM on this sunny day. When I test for the FC again tomorrow AM around 5:15 AM-- what SHOULD the FC be at as a normal loss? I will post the results tomorrow as well and please let me know what the next steps should be after that. Thank you all and have a good night.

I know u hate thid but if my CYA needs a boost as does my chlorine what about putting ONE packet only of Green Out into my skimmer to raise the CYA and chlorine.
Hi Monte, Glad you came back this season. I was afraid we'd totally scared you away.

Again with the Green Out? Didn't we go through this last year? No Green Out. Not now, not last year, not next year.

Hey Deb04. Nice to tty again. No i am not and did not. Everyone here already warned me. Ha ha. Read the rest of my posts to catch up. Numbers seem good just need to get pool green. That seems to be my only flaw i think so far. But CYA started out at 20-25 so i wad told to YES add stabilizer to pool to raise CYA. It is now 50👋pH looks hood as does TA and CC and CH

FC took 17 drops so FC is 8.5. Only lost maybe 0.5 to 1 ppm. Isnt that good??
Yes. Phew. Overnight loss of 1 or less is normal pool operation. (y) I'd keep the FC a little elevated in the 8 to 10 range until the water is filtered.

RIGHT ????? Who woulda thought you'd need CYA after last year. It should still be 140. :ROFLMAO:

A small bag is fine. 10lbs maybe. I've never needed any with carts. Home Depot, Walmart or any pool store should have it. Word of caution though. You want DE and not 'DE aid' or such.

10# will last you at least a couple seasons probably.
You only use a cup or so after backwashing.
I have just run out after 3 or so years on the same box

By the way. New test results.
FC. 6.5 after total sunny day since 530 am. So lost just 2 ppm all day.
TA. Still 90.
CYA still 50
pH. Still 7.5
CH. still 50.

Everything staying stable. Will now add chlorine to bring it up a but past 8 or more otherwise everything looking good?? What do u think???

The HTH DE aid is no good. Matt's take on it is in post # 2

TA. Still 90.
CYA still 50
pH. Still 7.5
CH. still 50
CYA, TA and CH can be every two weeks or more now. They'll stay where they are. If they hold for 2 weeks, go to monthly.

Actually, you're done with CH for the year. You don't need it and it doesn't matter.

PH and FC are all you need to test regularly.

Ok thank u sincerely. So if the suggestion from # 112 is incorrect after i sen the 4 pics of different DE items can u give me a pic or something of the correct type or product of DE and what size and price i should get and pay. I sent 4 pics. Any of those?? I think they are straight DE items unless u have a sure one for me😊
Pool is spic and span. Will put-in clarifier later this evening and filter is running till 7. Then i will vacuum and finger’s crossed
