Pool Opened & How do I Clean Pool Cover Before Storage

Pool opened and here’s the picture perfect TFP of excellence. I follow the TFP method to the tee and here’s how my pool looks when opened. I’m sooooooooooo excited. TFP all the way!!!!


Question! How do I clean my winter pool cover before packing it away for the summer? I don’t want the pool cover to get nasty over the duration of it being stored away. I can’t find the answer to this question anywhere on the site. Please help.

We lay ours out on the driveway and power wash it - both sides. After it dries, fold and store.

Hello Sue...

I was going to do the same thing, but wasn't sure if some form of chemical was advisable to keep away the mice and bugs. I've heard of people using Stow Away Cleaner for their Pool Covers or should I use any type of cleaner?

Mendy48, we store ours in the garage hanging from the rafters and haven't had any issues with mice or bugs. Normally we only use water to rinse away the dirt but I think we may spot treat some stains this year using simple household cleaner prior to the power wash.

I'll try that then.... I'll get some green household cleaner aand wipe/powerwash/dry. Then I'll fold it and store it away in a bin. Sounds like a plan. Thanks Sue.
