30 minutes is enough time once it's all dissolved?
test CYA 24 hours after the stabilizer is dissolved from the sock.

UV, heat and organics..
I've been keeping the FC level somewhat consistently high, in accordance with the CYA/FC chart for SLAM, for a couple days. I ~may~ be seeing a decline in the FC consumption rate. CYA is now 30 and pH is 7.8 ... I've gone through over 20 gallons of chlorine. Hopefully there's a point at which the chlorine starts to hang around longer? What is responsible for crunching through all the chlorine?
That worries me a lot that you’re running FC that low, regularly..
This morning my FC=3!!!!!!!! This is the first time a morning test showed anything better than essentially zero! Then we got a couple inches of additional pool water via a thunderstorm![]()
If I could wave a magic wand over the pool and just have it regulate itself to FC=5-7 all the time I would. But for now I have to constantly monitor and adjust FC. After an entire night of no monitoring and no adjusting, the FC level drops to near zero. Nothing I can do about that short of staying up all night with the pool -- not something I'm going to do. It is a win in my book to have seen FC > 0 in the morning. If my thinking is wrong, please set me straightThat worries me a lot that you’re running FC that low, regularly.
Your FC should be 5-6, all the time; flirting with or going below the minimum will keep you in a never-ending algae battle.
If you are losing more than 1 ppm fc overnight there are still organics consuming your fc.If I could wave a magic wand over the pool and just have it regulate itself to FC=5-7 all the time I would.
