Pool not circulating

I noticed some algae build up and noticed that my pool was not circulating. I took out the filters and cleaned them thoroughly. No change. Pump is not priming. I cleaned out the impeller. The pump turns on and sounds fine. It won’t prime or even fill the filter housing. If I turn the valve to drain the pump will start draining the water. So the pump seems to be working. It’s spring and the pool getting a ton of oak pollen and such. My thinking is I have a clog somewhere. Pool level is fine. Weir is working. Skimmer is getting zero suction when pump is on. Smaller pool. One skimmer.

What are the two return pipes ? I'd wager the ball valve broke and either the left pipe is plugged at the end or is too small (1 inch ?) to handle the flow.

It's OK to the filter as evident by draining to waste. You cleaned the filters so they're theoretically good for priming. (And will likely clog quicker than usual from the algae) Think down stream from there.

You can try running without the carts to prove its not them.
