Pool Math App and adding chlorine

Couple of examples of adding chlorine from the FC section on the overview page.

Using Gallon jugs of 10% pool chlorine in 29000 gallon pool.

Example 1:
CYA = 30
FC = 2
Target FC would be 4

To add 2 ppm of 10% chlorine the app says:
Add 74 oz
OR 2quarts, 1 cup and 2oz
by volume to reach your target


Example 2:
CYA = 40
FC = 2.5
Target FC would be 5

To add 2.5 ppm of 10% chlorine the app says:
Add 93oz
OR 3 quarts
by volume to reach your target

In the first example, 2 quarts, 1 cup, 2oz is 72oz, not 74

In the second example, 3 quarts is 96oz, not 93

what am I missing?

It is not necessary to nitpick dosage recommendations by 2 or 3 ounces. Try to look at the bigger picture.

I do see the bigger picture. The app ha been this way since I installed it. I was just asking a question. I’m anal that way and I’m sure someone here can explain the discrepancy.

Once you get to larger quantities of chlorine, the app simply rounds to a reasonable amount.

Also, 2 quarts, 1 cup, 2oz is 74 oz.
