My light burned out last year when I mistakenly left it on while draining. It’s time to bite the bullet and get it repaired or replaced. I’m leaning on replacing it because I am considering a light changing LED bulb. In addition I have been slowly automating my home and would like to start doing it with my pool.
I’m having trouble figuring out where to start. It looks like the Pentair and Hayward are the two primary color changing options. In my research, it looks like both have option to integrate with Alexa and mobile. I’m unsure though what additional equipment is required to buy and have installed to integrate.
Also, since I already have a Hayward Ecostar Pump, would I be able to set up to connect my existing pump for automation as well if I go with the Hayward option? Or are only certain Hayward pumps compatible?
Another option I’m considering is to simply have a smart switch installed to the switch that controls the bulb. I have several switches like this for my lights inside the house but not for anything on outside. I don’t believe this would give me the ability to change colors though. Anyone have success setting up pool Light this way?
Any guidance from the forum is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
