Hi everyone,
My in-ground ganite pool is constantly leaking a small amount of water through the overflow pipe. I checked the auto fill/overflow tube and I noticed that the pvc overflow pipe is not secured/glued to the fitting, I can wiggle it with my hand and after some moving it completely came off and water started gushing out of the drain pipe. Is this normal? Does this pipe need to be glued or it is loose by design so you can remove it if you want to quickly lower the pool's water level? What can I do to stop the leak? Plumbers tape around the pipe to make it fit tighter? Pool putty? Or I need to properly attach it using pvc glue/silicon? The pool refill is plumbed to the irrigation system as a separate zone. It is currently disconnected. According to the previous owner there is a broken pipe to the irrigation somewhere and it caused high water bills.
Thanks
Thanks
