Pool inlet

I just had my pool re plastered 2 years ago. This summer i decided to install one of the PVC fountains to help cool the pool. It’s 94 degrees.
I noticed that all the jets and inlets are covered in plaster in the pool and spa. There is no way to unscrew them. Is this something the plaster company needs to fix ? or can i do it myself ? Any recommedations would be appreciated.

Some plaster pools don't use screw in return jets but rather a pressed fit return like part that sits very flush to the wall.
maybe this is what you have.
