The wife and I are getting the little things ironed out before pulling the trigger with our PB. I really like the look of the fish and rays mosaics with a shadow.... really makes it come to life. I need a little insight for those who went this route.

Do the kids really enjoy swimming with the wildlife?

What did your PB charge you to install?

Any regrets or changes you would make if you could rewind time?

Here is an example of what we like.

Thank you for the info

Welcome to TFP!! Be sure to start a build thread here. Everyone is going to want to follow what you do!! And if you want, we'll be happy to help with any decisions you're unsure of.

I didn't use the wildlife mosaics, but I think they are cool. I'll do a little research and see if I can find some threads from members who added the mosaics.

One of the TFP moderators installed some sealife mosaics on his pool - about 3 years ago. I'll ask him to check in.

In the meantime, here is the link to his pool build thread. The mosaics discussion begins on page 7 near the bottom of post #132. You'll need to scan the rest of the thread to see if he gives more info later. I didn't keep reading....

We were dead set on getting these and then decided not to. They are fairly expensive. Our pool builder charges a $300 setup fee for no matter how many you get. We can buy from them or anywhere we want. Small ones start around $50 and large ones like a big rose compass can go to $2000. We need extra deck and are on a limited budget so decided to put the money into the deck. We'd love to have them it is purely a financial decision for us.

They are expensive, but the best price (with excellent service) was from Frank Little, at little Tile inc. I think that's right, but he's online and should be easy to find. My PB said he couldn't buy them as cheap, and he wanted the name for future jobs. He is very customer helpful and friendly. He has it all too.

Awesome! Thank you all so much for the info. I will keep this idea in the background.... the kids threw a slide at me the other day... so may need to focus funds in that direction. I can tell this build will involve a lot of head scratching.
