Pool Heater

I am looking to replace our pool heater. I am not worried about changing the water lines, but I would rather not move the gas piping too much I don't have to. All the heaters I look at don't show where the gas line goes in. Is that standard across all heaters? Its about 8.5 inches off the ground. The one we have is about 20 years old so hard to do a 1:1 match to a raypack.

I had a rusted out 400k BTU pentair minimax. I would like to replace it with a Raypack.

The exact model of the old one is a Pool Heaters Pentair MiniMax NT 400

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Couple of years ago I replaced my Pentair 400k for identical (but newer) model however the gas line inlet was on opposite side of what the original one. So I had to have a plumber do some minor replumbing above ground to connect the gas. So plan to do some minor replumbing if your original model is quite old as mine was.

What models have you looked at?

Post pictures showing your plumbing and Minimax connections.

this is the one i might pull the trigger on, seems like the gas line would be 5 inches higher, which is fine. Just dont wanna run it like multiple feet if i dont have to

Look at the Pentair MasterTemp. It has the water lines on one side and gas line on the other like your MiniMax.
