Pool Heater Operation Question

It seems like a stupid question, but here it goes.

Can I just turn on my Jandy Heater and allow my Pump Schedule to essentially turn the heater on and off?

My Heater won't run until there is water pressure and will shut off when water pressure ceases to exist.

I am assuming the heater will just turn on and then off as my Pump goes on and off?

Hope this question makes sense.

Yes, many people run that way.

In my gas heater the manual says to let the water run through the heater for 10 minutes after the flame shuts off to prevent damage to the heat exchanger. If the heater happens to be running when the timer shuts off this would not be good per the manual. I always try to be sure the heater is off before the timer shuts the water flow off. I’m sure someone will disagree but that’s what my manual says.

Good point on the brand. I think my message really is to see what the installation and operation manual says for whatever heater a person may have.
