So my pool heater started leaking 5 days back and its pretty hot in Texas. Past 2-3 days I cannot find someone and people suggested it might cost $3000 to install a new heater. Everyone told me heater exchanger is broken and its very expensive.

I opened the heater yesterday and its rusted from botton and the leak is real bad (Its leaking a lot). So today I called a guy to by-pass the heater (He removed the PVC going in Heater and connected to pool outflow). So as of today I can run the filer and keep the pool clean.

My concern is shall i get the heater fixed or get a new one (How much new heater cost)? Thank you!

Raypak model no: P-M406A-EN-C

A new one looks to be right around 2500.. Raypak Digital Natural Gas Pool Heater 399k BTU | Electronic Ignition | P-R406A-EN-C 009219 P-M406A-EN-C 009965

And here are the parts, if you can fix it that would be cheaper.. :)
