I know it’s been years since you made this post and I have spoken with several professionals and tried to find forums and finally I found this. Everything noise related online seems to talk about the pump. But it’s coming from the filter. The way you described it is spot on. My pressure is a little high. Around 25 psi. When I take the cartridge out the pressure drops and the noise is gone. I took a short video to see. I decided to let my pump run so I didn’t just have standing water but it’s been without filtration for 2 days. When it first happened it was at 10:45 at night and it got me out of bed it was so loud. My wife suggested to turn it upside down which I did and so far after about 20 minutes it hasn’t made that noise. We shall see.
