Pool enclosure gutters: guards or not? End caps or not?

When I bought the house in 2018, gutters connecting enclosure to pool came with no guards and no end caps. See pics below. Leaves accumulate like crazy without guards. Not sure if end caps where left out on purpose to allow side drainage. Not sure if guards were left out on purpose. Is this maybe done all the times at a roof/enclosure junction because leaves would just accumulate on top and never fall off? My roof there is actually almost flat for 16 feet, under that roof there is an home addition. Should I add guards and/or end cap? I think I found the correct end cup for those gutters here at walmart (see pics below with measuremetns). Is that the right one? any suggestion for the guards?WhatsApp Image 2023-06-22 at 12.49.44.jpg

I think I see a downspout, so no, leaving end caps off wouldn't be desirable. There's also no reason that screens or regular cleaning shouldn't be employed, unless you enjoy clogged downspouts!

If you can easily access, you might consider using the foam inserts with simple screen on top in. They allow water to flow, but keep debris on top which can easily be hit with a leaf blower. With that said, a flat roof makes for easy work if you leave them uncovered. Just set a schedule to get up there to blow them clean.

Having that much wet leaf and pine straw mess sitting there is a recipe for damage. I'll second the foam inserts with the caution to pull them up and clean at least once a year. You'll want to keep the flat roof cleaned off fairly regularly as well. Don't let piles of "stuff" accumulate. Take a stiff broom up and sweep it.
