Pool Door Alarms. Using home Alarm System.

I have read a ton of post. Most seem to be using a bypass door alarm or the advice given seems unsafe.

I am hoping I could use a partition on my alarm system that requires a code to disarm. This would also notify my of the disarm and notify by both siren and push notification if our door was open.

We have 3 doors to the pool area / two gates. I can place a keypad and indoor Speaker/Siren at each door. Door have sensor already. I have locking gate lock at each gate and can also add sensors if needed.

Any thoughts.

It is all going to be up to how your building department thinks. Different regulations are in place in different areas, but common requiremmtes include

• Sound lasting for 30 seconds or more within 7 seconds after the door is opened.
  
• The alarm should be loud: at least 85 dBA (decibels) when measured 10 feet away from the alarm mechanism.
  
• The alarm sound should be distinct from other sounds in the house, such as the telephone, doorbell and smoke alarm.
  
• The alarm should have an automatic reset feature to temporarily deactivate the alarm for up to 15 seconds to allow adults to pass through house doors without setting off the alarm. The deactivation switch could be a touchpad (keypad) or a manual switch, and should be located at least 54 inches above the threshold and out of the reach of children.

So, that partition of your alarm system would need to be armed 24/7 with a temporary bypass on each door/window to the pool area

This may be in line with other posts that you have read, and it is different for every situation, but the alarms we need to pass inspection are not at all practical for every day use. Batteries came out as soon as we installed them and they will go back in when the final inspection is scheduled.
