Pool Decking - Marble?

Hi All

I am well into the construction of my pool and have been looking for a shiny white/smooth sort of look for the decking. Tiny grout lines and all that jazz.

Would anyone have any clue as to what sort of decking material is shown in the photo? Could it be Marble? One supplier told me it might be porcelain but I havent seen anything like it so I cant be sure.

I will need to sort out the coping next.....

It looks really slippery to me! Safety around a pool is something to consider when picking your decking.

Apparently there are products available that can be applied to make the surface less slippery. I am inclined to try or maybe I will just plan on hip and elbow surgery!

It is almost certainly marble and you can almost certainly plan on the surgery, regardless of what you apply to it (which will likely make it dull, anyway)

That photo does not look real more like a computer pool program concept drawing.

I would suggest limestone, travertine or sandstone.

The stone can vary dramatically in quality so do your research to make sure that you know exactly what you're getting.

Also, be very clear with the installer about how you want the finished product to look.

Mortared and grouted stone is much different than stone laid on sand.
