Pool Cover Proper Use

Hi Everyone,
It will be the first few days of crappy weather here. What is the proper use of a pool cover?? I read you cannot leave it on for more than overnight. What is the proper guide to using a pool cover.

What kind of cover ? I'm guessing solar? Any cover can be left on for at least a few days. The pool will need to 'breathe' at some point and get some UV from the sun. It will usually get a but of a funky smell if you go to long, but it goes away quickly when you uncover it. Rainwater left on top of the cover (and untreated) will go stagnant very quickly so do your best to brush it off. It can go directly into the pool, it seems like alot but its a drop in the proverbial bucket and will disperse almost immediately.
