Pool Collapse?

If this is a liner pool don't go down below 2'. Any lower and you risk your liner shifting out of position. Also , if the liner is particularly brittle I would not drain either.

Try only draining by half and refilling.

Swamp water can be fixed.

Unless the water is *solid* gunk, just do a SLAM instead. My pool was solid black, visible to like 1' down when I moved in. 3 weeks later, crystal clear without any water exchange. If it can fix that, it can fix anything. Scoop the solids, SLAM the rest. Unless you've got high CYA, or metals or something, not really worth the hassle/risk of water swapping IMO.

If you have a place to drain, and filling is cheap, it’s easiest to start over. That said, the SLAM has proven to work an uncountable amount of times.
