I appreciate any comments in advance.... looking for feedback as this is my first pool closing. Last year the pool builder did it so i tried to do as they did (as far as i could remember that is). I used a shopvac and blew from the skimmer to get the water out, then i disconnected the salt cell and blew the 2 return lines until they were bubbling alot (duck plugs), i put the yellow caps on the duck plugs so i hope that worked out ok. I pulled the filter cartridges and shut off gas valve (going to heater and in the heater), shut off the breakers and ill keep the salt cell inside for the winter.

Its a pretty basic setup compared to what i see many have on these forums. Did i miss anything? My one concern is im still seeing a bit of water deep inside the pipe of the skimmer, but it only apears to be a very bit as the shopvac was hooked up for a good 15 minutes.

Thanks!

It appears that you will be fine. If you are concerned about a little bit of water, then add antifreeze. I personally am only a fan of black rubber expandable plugs and nothing else. Other members have had success with the threaded plugs. Duck plugs, one way, not crazy. If you are comfortable, that is all that matters.

Do not forget to winterize your heater, pump, filter, etc.
