Morning everyone,
We bought our house last summer and over the winter the pool cover the last owner left failed (lots of rips) and needless to say we had a very dirty pool. After an initial open by a company (blue to green pool service), I decided to do the rest myself. We had some pump issues, but those are now resolved, so the pool was lying blue, but dormant for a few weeks. It's been running consistently now for maybe 7 days max (8-12hrs a day)
I vacuumed up all the dead algae to waste (green algae), but am still having trouble with the pool being cloudy in the deep end (the shallow end is crystal clear)
My current chemistry according to my Sutro this morning is:
pH 7.5
Free Cl 2.3
Alkalinity 140-160
I know the Alkalinity is high, but I recently had all these values balanced and within specified limits and still had cloudiness. I'm pretty stuck at this juncture. Should I try adding more floculent followed by vacuuming? Clarifier (last week) did nothing. I use HTH products.
