Pool cleaner hose - tangling in the winter time?

Has anyone else had a problem where their pool cleaner hose, coils up and tangles more in the wintertime?

I am in North Texas, and I noticed our hose (3-4 years old now). It only happens during the colder months...when the temperature is probably below 50 degrees.

the plastic does not flex as easy and it gets into a pretzel, not really anything you can do.. I used another swivel on mine and it helped a little but I close in the winter for 3 months...
